All the journals will be digitalized from Volume 31 of FY 2009 publication (available at the Japan Society for Natural Disaster Science Website and J-Stage).

Preparation of Manuscripts
English is the language of publication. The manuscript should be in 12-pt type, double spaced, with 2.5cm margins on standard A4 paper.
The paper's title should be concise but informative and be followed by the name, affiliation, and address of the author(s). The name, affiliation, address of the corresponding author should also be given.
An abstract of no more than 200 words that states the purposes of the research, basic procedures used, main findings, and principal conclusions must precede the body of the paper.
Up to 5 Key Words should follow the abstract.
All sections should be numbered sequentially with Arabic numerals
(e.g., 1. INTRODUCTION).
Subsections should be indicated by decimal notation (1.1, 1.2, ...2.1, 2.2,....).
Figures and Tables
Copies should be placed at the end of the manuscripts, each figure and table on a separate page. Original figures and tables should be submitted only on acceptance of the paper. The place for insertion of each figure and table should be indicated in the final version of the paper.
Captions and headings
Each figure must have a caption and each table a heading. Figure captions and table headings should be listed on a separate sheet at the end of the manuscript. Abbreviate figure as Fig. in the captions and text. The word Table should be spelled out and capitalized in both the text and table headings.
These should be concise, immediately follow the text, and include grant information as well as thanks to individuals.
In the text, citations should follow the author-year system.

The discussion remains quite controversial (e.g., Kawase, 1996; Pitarka et al., 1996; Inoue and Miyatake, 1996)
In the Reference Section citations should be given alphabetically by author(s), year, title of article, journal name, volume number and inclusive pages.
Book citations should be by author(s), year, title, inclusive pages, publisher and place of publication.
Multiple references published by the same author or authors in a given year should be in alphabetical order (1998a, 1998b).

Equations should be typed in italics and numbered, (1), (2)..., in the right hand margin. Superscripts, subscripts, and Greek letters should be clearly written. SI (Systeme International) units should be used whenever possible, otherwise use only standard units. The relationship of non-SI units used to the corresponding SI units should be given.
