Abstract
@This report shows the damages and their effects on the residents' daily
life and urban functions by Typhoon 19 or 1991 and recovery of them mainly
in the Hiroshima district. The characteristics of damage were suspensions
of supply of electricity by injury from salt. The electric power company
had little prepared itself for such a damage. Therefore, suspension of
supply electricity and water and telephone and traffic congestion continued
long time. This investigation was executed in March, 1992. The method
of it was obtaining the data and hearing from the various organizations,
which implemented their emergency pre- and post-typhoon. Also, we carried
on the interviews some private sectors and residents on their responses
to this disaster. As the results, we had many lessons for future disasters.
